Notes:
- Soils emit carbon dioxide (CO2), nitrous oxide (N2O) is emitted when nitrogen is applied and animals emit methane (CH4).
- Mechanized operations, such as tillage, planting and spraying all require fuel which emit CO2.
- Whilst the calculator does not provide information on carbon offsets, total emissions may be reduced by planting trees and in some areas, increased soil carbon sequestration through improved pastures or reduced tillage.
